GPUpdate Force

If you have recently been added to a folder on the W:\ drive or had a security permission applied to your account, those changes can take up to 24 hours to sync. To expedite the process, or if it's been 24+ hours and the changes have not yet been applied, you can manually update the Group Policy by following the steps below.

1. Save all of your work and close any programs you have open
2. In the search bar on your taskbar, type cmd and select the Command Prompt app
3. Type gpupdate /force and press Enter
   • Wait for a minute for all of the text to finish loading
4. When it says OK to log off? (Y/N) , type Y and press Enter
5. Your computer may restart, or it may just log you out. Once you're back at the Windows sign-in screen, try logging in and accessing the folder or area of permission you were granted.
